My name is Megan and I am an incoming senior studying Finance and Business information systems in the College of Business Administration at Pitt. I will be heading to Sydney this summer on the Pitt GBI Sydney Summer program where I will be taking a class and completing an internship. I chose this program as it was a great way to study abroad and gain work experience while not being away from home for a whole semester. My goals for the program are to gain work experience, meet new people, and travel to a place I have never been before. I also want to apply my business knowledge to an international setting. I hope to leave with more knowledge, more application of my skills, and hopefully some new friends as well! I plan to make use of my analytical abilities to analyze and assess Sydney’s financial markets, culture, and new academic environment. Being flexible is also necessary studying abroad. My ability to swiftly adapt to different environments, obstacles, and unfamiliar situations will allow me to stay goal-focused. Making the most of my communication abilities will enable me to network and form new relationships professionally, academically, and socially. Overall, I will be using my Clifton Strengths will allow me to balance between rewarding experiences living overseas and my academic and professional obligations. Overall, I cannot wait to embark on this journey and see where it takes me!
