This past week went by super fast and was probably my most productive week for me as an intern I really enjoyed going to work this week. I started doing a lot more financial and asset management work this pas week and I was really glad I got to because it is something I have really been wanting to learn. I got to utilize a lot of my excel skills this past week and I was glad I got to. I also had a coupled day this week where I was out of the office and doing more property management and mobile work with my co-worker Eliza. It was really nice to get out of the office and we talked a lot and she was so interested in American culture because she has only gone to the states one time but I will say it was nice to get closer with my co-workers and really get to know them.

I think something I am learning a lot about myself during this experience is I really don’t like sitting behind a desk all day I will say I can tolerate it but getting to go out into the field is my favorite part. I am so glad I am learning about myself during this trip and really starting to understand what I want for myself in my career. I definitely have been able to also just leverage my strong communication skills in this job I think being confident in the real estate world is something that gets you very far just not being afraid to ask questions to my co-workers and be able to communicate with them on a professional and also a personal level has been able to help me during this experience. I feel in the United States and in Ireland they respect people who are willing to learn and ask questions when they need help. It’s not about asking too many questions it’s about asking the right questions I would say.

While working at Casey Kennedy Estate Agents I get to use a lot of my previous experiences in property management and transfer them to my role in Ireland in Pittsburgh I am a property manager and I deal with tenant issues, contractors, and inspections all the time. I understand how it works with residential properties. I get to use those skills when helping my colleagues here deal with the properties they manage. One of co-workers Aoife has me write her emails and referrals for her for tenants because she thinks I write them better than her which I think is funny. I have to deal with writing emails and sending letters to contractors, tenants, and neighbors dealing with my property in Pittsburgh and I think that is why I feel so comfortable or get excited when I get handed a task to do that.

A skill that I have gained from this internship is utilizing Canva and CapCut for producing social media and marketing work for the company. When I first started working for Casey Kennedy a few weeks ago I did not really know how to use Canva nor CapCut and honestly I had not too much interest in all in marketing work but, over the past few weeks I have been taught how to use these apps and sites for marketing and I am very glad I have learned and gained skills in these apps. I will say the most successful thing I have done on Canva is make a new email signature for 1 of our sales agents and he really appreciated my work.

In my free time this week I did some traveling to Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland for the weekend it was such an amazing trip. I did the Giant’s Causeway hike it was so amazing the views were something that you don’t get to see ever in the United States. I am so grateful to be in Ireland and get to experience all the different places and beautiful views the island has to offer.
