Hey gang, after a 18 hours of flight I finally made it back home to Philly from Australia. I had tons of fun exploring Sydney and I also learned a lot along the way. In the final weeks things started ramping up with projects at school and final tasks for my internship and I think I navigated it well still giving myself time to explore and have fun.

During the last couple weeks my friends and I had a couple final events planed before heading home. The first of which was a group outing to a karaoke bar near the CAPA center. The bar had tons of colorful lights and a cool vibe but when we got to the song list we found it was more filled with Korean songs then American ones we knew but it still had a decent enough selection. We then proceeded to sing our hearts out with myself preforming Wagon Wheel, Everybody Wants to rule the world, and Gimme Gimme. We ended up extending the time we had an extra hour cause not everyone wanted to leave but this ended up with only me and two of my roommates staying till the end singing like the loud Americans we were. This was definitely one of the most fun and memorable nights of the trip with plenty of videos of my friends and I goofing off and singing hard.

Another fun trip I went on was when my roommate Aiden and I went to Royal National Park. This trip was the day after the karaoke night so this was a nice peaceful recovery. The actual journey to the park was a rough one consisting of a train, then a bus, then a didi (Australian Uber app). After our arduous journey we arrived to beautiful Royal National Park and rented 2 kayaks for an hour but we ended up using them for almost 2. We drifted along a river through the park seeing all the awesome wildlife and scenery and just living in the peace and tranquility that nature brought us. It also gave us plenty of time to talk and was a great opportunity to get to know my roommate better.
Throughout this trip I feel I have gained several “soft skills” that will help me later in life. The first I can immediately think of is time management/ balancing work and fun. With classes, my internship, and exploring the city it was hard to know when to do what but I think I handled it well and learned a lot. Another skill I feel I picked up was navigating around the city. Though Sydney’s public transportation is very robust it was still a challenge to learn how to use it properly to get to the places I wanted. I was also exposed to several official documents for the company I worked for and understood better what it means for a company to be non-profit.

Overall this trip was an amazing experience that I am so grateful I was able to go on and that I will never forget. Thanks for reading, Huddy out.
