For the project, I am part of the AI & the Future of Co-working Spaces group. I was very flexible with what group I was assigned to, but I am quite happy with mine. AI is an exponentially expanding area with many curiosities left to discover, starting with all of its possible uses. I am eager to uncover some more potential uses for AI, especially regarding work in different fields. Our main target client is Majella Orr from Gteic @Carrigart, which is one of 31 total Gteic hubs along with western coast of Ireland. The Carrigart location is the one our group will be visiting. The hub is a co-working space, and our focus is to help with the future of it, which I find interesting because co-working spaces are an easy convenience especially in places with reduced access to proper work areas. We had a virtual client meeting with Majella today, and it was very helpful because we could ask our initial questions. To prepare, I went to Gteic’s website and also read a few articles on the opening of the Carrigart location and its services. I looked on social media to see if they had any accounts, but there weren’t too many options, I found only a Facebook page. But I was able to gather that Gteic was open to partnerships and new ways to increase foot traffic, mainly in the offseason. They have 18 hot desks and a few meeting rooms, so possibilities for expansion are limited but ways to promote are not! I found it most interesting that it’s placed in an area where people can access other things like drinks and food, so they can take nicer breaks. The beach is also very close, so people on vacation can stop by the space and get some work done!

Currently my group is focusing on ways to increase foot traffic in the hub through community outreach events and partnerships with local businesses, as well as an increased social media presence instead of focusing on just word-of-mouth promotion. We will also be focused on slowly integrating AI into areas where it can benefit the hub: for example, in customer service.

I am very excited to continue working on this project with my classmates and learning more on the way, especially once we get to Ireland!
