I Found My Way

on

Coming into this experience, I knew I would learn a lot, but I did not expect how much it would actually change me. At first, everything felt unfamiliar. Even simple things like getting around, ordering food, or adjusting to a different routine took effort. Over time, those small challenges became part of my everyday life, and I stopped second guessing myself in situations that once felt overwhelming.

I am incredibly grateful to my scholarship donor for making this opportunity possible. Being here gave me the chance to step away from what is comfortable and really see what I am capable of. It allowed me to experience a different culture in a way that goes beyond what you can learn in a classroom.

One moment that stands out to me is getting lost while trying to find a place I had planned to go. At the time, it was frustrating, but instead of stressing, I kept walking and figured it out as I went. I ended up seeing parts of the city I would not have found otherwise. That experience stayed with me because it showed me how much I have learned to adapt and stay calm when things do not go as planned.

Personally, I have grown a lot in my independence and confidence. I feel more comfortable making decisions on my own and handling situations that are new to me. Academically, I gained a better understanding of how business works in different cultural settings. Seeing those differences in real life made everything feel more relevant and meaningful. Professionally, I have become more confident in working with different types of people and communicating in a way that is clear and respectful.

The biggest skills I developed were adaptability, communication, and problem solving. I learned how to adjust quickly, stay patient, and find solutions without overthinking everything. These are skills I know will help me not only at Pitt Business but also in my future career.

One of my biggest takeaways is that growth happens when you are outside of your comfort zone. I plan to carry that mindset with me when I return by pushing myself more in class, speaking up in group settings, and taking advantage of new opportunities even if they feel unfamiliar.

Looking ahead, I feel more prepared for what comes next. This experience gave me a new level of confidence and a broader perspective that I know will help me in my career. I am leaving with more than just memories. I am leaving with a better understanding of myself and what I am capable of.

Thank you again to my scholarship donor for making this possible. This experience truly meant a lot to me.
