Hi everyone! I just finished up my six weeks in London, and I am finally back home! Reflecting on my time in London, I am glad to say I achieved my goals I set in my first post. My three goals for studying abroad were to sightsee as much as I could, gain perspective on England’s business world, and become more independent. I was able to achieve these goals in a variety of ways.
First, London has so much history that it was easy to sightsee. It was especially convenient since all of their national museums are free! I spent a lot of my free time on weekends exploring around the city and visiting museums. My favorites were The National Portrait Gallery and The Wallace Collection. Below are some pictures I took from these museums!

For my second goal, my internship gave me a first-hand experience with how a sales company in England works. During my time there, I learned a lot about the industry. This helped me develop my pitching, communication, and confidence. Although I do not see myself pursuing a sales career, these skills will help me with any career I choose in the future. All professionals require communication and confidence to be able to work efficiently, and I am grateful I was able to develop these skills during this internship.
Lastly, I was able to build a more independent lifestyle through this program. This was the longest I had ever spent by myself, let alone in a different country. This pushed me out of my comfort zone to tour the city, try new restaurants, and spend more time by myself.
Although I spent a lot of time at my internship, I think my class was my favorite part. I was able to learn so much about London’s history that I never knew before! We took field trips once a week around the city to different museums and historical sites. We also had exams and a presentation towards the end of the class.
Overall, I loved being able to immerse myself in the culture of London for six weeks. This was an experience I have never had before, and it allowed me to learn so much about another country and myself. It has always been my dream to study abroad, and I am so thankful for this opportunity. I hope I am able to travel abroad again soon! Cheers!
