My first impression of the University of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh itself is simply “big”. While I live somewhat close to the city, I have almost never fully spent a day exploring the city or its people. This program has allowed me a deeper look into Pitt and Pittsburgh, and one that has truly shown the vast network that both areas find themselves in. Pitt is situated within the city, so the construction, traffic, and the many shops truly foster a sense of independence from my normal suburban routine. It feels as though every step takes me somewhere new and every road has a different culture or purpose within the city itself. This experience has already emphasized the saying, “You learn something new every day.”
For my consulting group, I decided to work within the Business Development scope. I felt that I could provide detailed, thoughtful work for the consult that will be given to AllPeopleBeHappy in Ireland. Carrigart is the town that has decided to give us this opportunity, and I plan to use my knowledge to help develop their businesses by trying to increase off-season foot traffic and expand their abilities as a town with a focus on entrepreneurship (amongst other ideas). They are a unique sea-side small town known for their beautiful aesthetic and wonderful visage!! I’m excited to learn more about Carrigart and other similar towns to help them build their strengths and find their brightest opportunities!!
