At first, Pitt looked like this huge city with so many moving components. It was a bit overwhelming at first; however, spending time here has really opened my perspective to what life is like. The people are so welcoming and inclusive. Just the other day, a couple of friends and I went to get dinner at the Union Grill. On our walk there, we saw a group of people gathered in a yard throwing frisbees around. We decided to walk up and ask what was going on. “Is this an event or some kind of club?” we asked. To our surprise, it was an ultimate frisbee game that was about to start. Sam, the guy we were talking to, invited us to join them with a welcoming smile. So we did for a bit. It was so random, yet really fun. I have learned how kind people really are here, and there is a strong sense of community at Pitt.

For the consulting project, I was grouped with Isabella, Sean, and Sarah. Our field is Business Development. Working in business development fascinates me because you get to explore what really makes a business tick on the inside. The nitty-gritty of finances, budgeting, investments, and more is especially interesting. Getting to work in this area is a great but challenging opportunity. There is a large amount of material to cover, with many different possible directions to take. However, that also opens up a lot of opportunities.
