Project Bumps, Getting back On Our Feet

Today, we had a meeting with Erin who is the Ireland Site Director for AllPeopleBeHappy, and it went mediocre with what our team had to propose. We came in thinking we were prepared with questions to ask her, and we did not after all. My team learned that introducing ourselves to a client, especially with pitching a consulting project, means to FULLY introduce ourselves, what we are working on with the project, what is our area that we focus on within the project, so learning that was a valuable lesson. What I found most interesting was that we were not just preparing for a one on one client meeting, we were getting information about the town Carrigart before we even got to see it in person which I thought was very valuable and needed for our project, the other teams for our Consulting project also got to ask multiple questions to Erin, and we got to go from there. Our team got most out of what we needed to layout for our project mainly, since our topic is about Digital Disruption and Innovation, we got to learn from Erin that the town overall and its people who live there are very anti AI, they don’t have any plans on using it, and they like to stick to the traditional ways of getting the message around such as posters, the community coming together, and mainly in-person events. I believe that the hardest part about our part of the project will just be phase one, getting the basic layout of what we have to pitch to Erin and the town of Carrigart.

After our team meeting with Erin, we had a lunch discussion with Joe Pietropola, we got to hear about his journey from how he started his career and worked his way up to where he is today! He gave us valuable advice on Consulting, and what he did back when he worked for some companies such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and more. What we’ve heard from him is pretty impressive since, he brought a lot of revenue to the companies he’s worked at and hearing his advice really helped not just our team with what we could improve, but the other teams working on this Consulting project.

Overall, I ended the day with working with my team to finish up the rough draft of our scope, with the helpful advice we got from Erin and Joe today, that really helped a lot. After finishing up the rough draft; finalizing it, I went out with a friend and got to know Phipps! It was pretty cool to what Phipps had to offer/sight see, and the garden was just breath taking, we then ended off the night with Chipotle.
