We’ve finally arrived in County Donegal, and this time our stop is where we’re doing our consulting project. If you don’t remember, our team is the Digital Disruption and Innovation team, and I’m responsible for leveraging AI use in businesses in Carrigart!
To start with, the town is one of the most beautiful and inclusive I’ve ever seen. Surrounded by an ocean that brings low tide during the day and high tide at night, the town brings an air of seawater and peace that beats out every single place we’ve been in over the last few weeks. Once in a while, you can also see people riding horses over the low tide to the neighboring Island, Troy. Not only that, the quality of life here is unreal! The locals are so inviting and open to conversation, and we were able to talk to so many different people and hear their stories of Carrigart. Unlike Pittsburgh, where many people pass you by without a glance, those in Carrigart will actively make eye contact and give you greetings. Walking the sidewalks of the town, you’ll see many shops and locals either browsing, conversing, or eating. Approach any of them, and they’ll be more than willing to talk with you!

Carrigart hasn’t always been this glamorous, though. Back in the late 19th century, a Feudal lord by the name of Letrim had terrorized the town, raising taxes and abusing his status as a lord to essentially steal and abuse the townfolk. Because of that, he was assassinated by three farmers in Carrigart, with none of the farmers being charged (rather, they were commemorated), because he was disliked so much.
The town believes in a peaceful community without taxes or any form of political manipulation; this, along with the close-knit community, is what makes it thrive. Carrigart is a place full of both peace and love, as one can completely leave their door unlocked or leave their belongings out without any risk that anyone would steal it. In fact, it is more unheard of that crime does happen in Carrigart! After speaking with Brandon, the CEO of AllPeopleBeHappy who lives in Carrigart, he told us that the last big crime in Carrigart was tourists accidentally breaking a window with a soccer ball.
Ultimately, Carrigart is an extremely fascinating town that has extremely abundant scenic views, history, and a community so inviting you’ll feel like you’re at home. I am so excited to continue working on our consulting project, and I can’t wait to see the things we come up with!
