During my internship with Confirmo in Prague, I noticed that success was less about being the loudest person in the room and more about being someone others could rely on. People valued showing up on time, doing quality work, and working well with the rest of the team. Everyone seemed to take pride in what they were doing, and there was a strong sense of professionalism without feeling overly competitive. I learned that being a successful employee wasn’t about constantly proving yourself, it was about being dependable, respectful, and willing to learn.
One of the biggest differences I noticed compared to the U.S. was the pace and overall workplace culture. In the United States, it often feels like success comes from speaking up, taking every opportunity, and always trying to go above and beyond. In Prague, people still worked hard, but there was more of an emphasis on balance and collaboration. I felt like employees trusted each other to do their jobs without needing to constantly stand out. Experiencing both environments helped me realize that success can look different depending on the culture, and being able to adapt to those differences is an important skill to have.
