Today we finally arrived at our project destination, Carrigart. We were greeted by Brandon, the CEO of AllPeopleBeHappy, and he gave us a little tour around and showed us their park. Then we ate lunch at a local restaurant, and right after we met with the owner of the gift shop they had. She was a lovely lady who described what it was like owning a local shop in a town like Carrigart, and the problems she deals with in the off-season. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, answering everyone’s questions without hesitation. My first impression was how kind everyone was in the town. Their sense of community was indescribable, as everyone was like family to each other. Something I’d never expect to see is our bus driver being able to leave the bus completely unlocked without any worry of crime. Brandon also has us close our eyes and take a deep breath in. Then he asked us what we felt. I felt a sense of silence and peace, reflecting to what the town represents as a whole. Carrigart wasn’t what I expected, as I thought it was a town with little to no technology or livelihood, but so far, it’s a beautiful little town with an inspiring community.
