Hi! My name is Robin Lis, and I will be studying abroad with the Global Business Institute in London for six weeks this summer.
I am currently a junior Marketing student at the University of Pittsburgh enrolled in the College of Business Administration. I am also working to obtain a Public & Professional Writing Certificate along with a German Minor.
I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – about 20 minutes outside of the city. I’m so excited for this opportunity to explore a new city across the world and discover what it has to offer. I decided to go to London because it has always been a city I wanted to visit. (I’m also British, so I am looking forward to seeing where my ancestors draws from!) In addition to this, I’m thrilled to work as an intern abroad in London this summer; I am slightly worried about some of the different cultural and working styles I will find in a professional setting. However, I think that will just be part of the learning curve everyone goes through when they visit an unfamiliar place. Other than that, I can’t wait to visit all of the popular spots in London and find some lesser known gems, too.
Here’s some quick fun facts:
- I was an exchanged student when I was 15 and lived in Hannover, Germany.
- I’ve previously been to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein.
- I am a part of the 25% of people with British decent related to William the Conquer.
Make sure to check back, and stay updated with my journey this summer!
