London Calling

Hello! My name is Emily and I am a rising junior from Allentown, PA. I am studying Marketing and Supply Chain with Certificates in International Business and Business Analytics. My biggest hobby and passion is music. You can usually find me looking for new artists on apple music or listening to some great vinyl. I am also a musician. I have been playing the alto sax for 10 years and am a member of the Pitt Marching Band and Pep Band.

This summer I am very excited about spending part of it in the great city of London! During my stay I will be interning at the local company and taking International Dimensions of Organizational Behavior. I chose London because in my future career I hope to work for an international company that allows me to travel to or do a placement  in the UK, so this is a great introduction to working life abroad. I also have a lot of family in the UK and have visited there before as a tourist so this is a chance to discover the city as a student and employee, rather than a tourist.

There is so much to look forward to this summer, but I think I am most excited about my internship placement. This will be my first internship and I am ready to work hard and learn lots. But I am also looking forward to the sightseeing and the food. Scones with jam and clotted cream are simply the best!

Even though I am very excited I’m a little worried about balancing school, work and sightseeing. There is so much that I want to see and do, but I also want to do well in my class and gain a lot of experience from my internship, so I’m not sure where I’ll find the time to do it all! Hopefully, I’ll get into a nice routine during the first week and everything will flow nicely.

It’s less than two weeks until I leave and I’m counting down the days. See you in a bit London!
