Prepping for Sydney- Madeline Goode

Hello! My name is Madeline Goode, and I am a senior Marketing and Supply Chain Management double major in the College of Business Administration. I grew up about 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh in Monroeville, PA.

Random fun fact about me: I accidentally met Ariana Grande (my idol)! I was standing in a hallway eating nachos when she walked past- I guess I just happened to be in the right place at the right time!

I am super stoked to be studying abroad in Sydney, Australia! I chose the GBI Sydney Sports program because it runs in the summer for six weeks, which is a perfect duration- not too long, not too short. I can participate in the program without interfering with my schedule at Pitt, and this program in particular has a focus on sports marketing- an area I may be interested in pursuing after I graduate college. Additionally, I greatly enjoy sports and I have always wanted to travel to Australia, where the weather is always beautiful and the accents are rad.

During my time in Sydney, I am extremely excited to explore a new area of the globe. I have never left the United States before, so this is totally out of my comfort zone. I can’t wait to visit beaches, tour the Sydney Opera House, and learn the ins and outs of marketing in a different culture. I am nervous about completing an internship abroad, as this will be my first ever internship experience. However, I know that any stress I feel will be outweighed by the adrenaline rush of this new opportunity. I cannot wait to see the amazing rewards that studying abroad in Sydney will bring!

Cheers!
