GBI Sydney- Kaitlyn Wick

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am from Buffalo, NY. I am going into my Junior year at the University of Pittsburgh, and I am pursuing a degree in Marketing with a certificate in International Business and an Economics minor.

I am very excited to be heading to Sydney this summer. I will be there for 6 weeks, beginning at the end of May. During my time in Sydney I will be taking one class as well as participating in an internship. I am enrolled in the class, Introduction to International Economics.

I chose this program as I hope to work abroad in the future. I have never had the chance to go abroad before, so this program will give me a crucial opportunity to gain experience working in an international environment. I chose Sydney because I wanted a country that would still provide a unique and challenging experience but did not have the language barrier that is involved in some other programs.

Although I do not have the language barrier to worry about I do have a few other worries. I am worried about commuting to my internship on the Sydney public transport, as I will be unfamiliar with the area. However, I am mostly excited for the experience and I look forward to updating you throughout my time in Sydney!
