This weekend I traveled to the beautiful country of Iceland. I am so lucky to be given able the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful places on the earth. I flew in on Friday and that night I was able to watch the midnight sun slowly set of the majestic mountains with one of the clearest nights this whole summer. The next day we embarked on an 11-hour tour that took us to the Golden Circle where we walked between the Eurasia and North American tectonic plates and saw beautiful waterfalls and lava fields created thousands of years ago. Then we traveled to a glacial waterfall and a volcanic crater. From there we went to the Blue Lagoon hot springs and spent a few hours there enjoying the baths and the mineral facial treatments from the stones.
Out of all the places I have been in the world, I can confidently say that my trip to Iceland has been one of the most beautiful and exciting places to travel and I hope that other people get to experience the same euphoria I did. The locals were all so friendly and kind and willing to help if we had any questions and although the food was a bit pricey, it was well prepared and tasted really good! Even the street vendor hot dogs were practically gourmet.
I can not wait until the next time I am able to travel back to Iceland.
