Last Weeks in Dublin

It’s hard to believe that we have less than 2 weeks before we leave Dublin. I think working full time during the week  makes the time go by much faster. At work, I have been assigned more responsibilities each week. This coming week I’ll be filling in for the receptionist while she’s on vacation, which means answering lots of phone calls. So far, it’s been tough for me to make out what Irish people are saying on the phone. Most of them talk very fast and some have thick accents, so answering the phone is actually quite challenging for me although I think I’ve improved a little over the past weeks. I appreciate the fact that I’m being given different types of tasks to keep it interesting; sometimes I’m stuck doing one particular project for a full week, which can really make the week drag on.

Outside of work, I’ve continued to explore Dublin even more. We got to the north side of the city this week and experience a slightly different side of Dublin. Somehow, I managed to get through the first 9 weeks of this program without anything terrible happening but last night I dropped my phone and completely shattered the screen, I guess it was only a matter of time. Other than that I am having a fun time here in Ireland and I am looking forward to traveling to Paris next weekend with some of the other Pitt students.
