Hey everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Nico Grillo and I’m from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently, I am a junior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Supply Chain Management with a minor in Economics and a Certificate in International Business.
I am thrilled to be spending three months in Sydney, Australia where I will be taking a few classes and working an internship. I chose this location because Sydney is a thriving, global business centre and has some of the most beautiful sights in the world. Sydney also gives me the wonderful opportunity to completely surround myself in a foreign culture without the difficulties of a language barrier.
One of the main reasons I chose this program is because one day I plan to work abroad. My internship will provide me with valuable international business experience, something very important as business everywhere is becoming more and more globalized. It will also serve as a networking opportunity as I meet and work with people who are in a similar field and enable me to develop longstanding business relationships.
Living, learning, and working in a city like Sydney is such a rare opportunity and so I think I am most excited to really just experience a new country and culture for such a long period of time. I can’t wait to go out and explore the beaches of Bondi and Manly and maybe even check out the island of Tasmania off the southern coast. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you throughout my time in Sydney!
