Hi everyone and welcome! I am Rachel Dunne, a junior here at Pitt pursuing a major in Finance with minors in Economics and Architectural Design. I was born in northern New Jersey and moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania when I was 7, which is where I grew up. I am a huge family person mostly because my family is huge.
On campus I am involved in various clubs and organized activities. I am the Kiva Consulting Director for Enacuts, the co-Vice President of the Pitt Women’s Club Volleyball team, a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a member of the Pitt Love Your Mellon Crew, and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Professionally, I spent last summer working with MassMutual Pittsburgh as a Financial Services Representative doing financial advising. This summer I will be working with BNY Mellon as a Markets Summer Analyst in New York.
I have chosen to study on the GBI London Program because I believe it will not only be a great experience, but also a good combination of learning about finance and architecture. Personally I have never studied abroad or been across the Atlantic ocean, so I am really looking forward to it. This will also be the farthest I’ve ever been away from my parents as well.
I am very excited to learn about international finance and economics, and believe it will add to my undergraduate experience. Professionally, I think I’ll learn a lot about adapting to new environments and learning about cultural differences in business environments.
Looking forward to writing again, when I’m in London. Cheers!
