Life in Australia

It’s been exactly a week since I have landed in Sydney and everything is going great so far! I am lucky enough to have some really great people in my apartment with me, and a great roommate as well. Jet lag lasted for about a week. For the first few days, I would contemplate going to bed at 6:30 pm because of how tired I was. Speaking of days, the they literally last forever! The sun rises around 6 am and sets after 8 pm which is nice because there are so many things you can accomplish before the day is over.

So far, I have been to three beaches here in Australia: Manly, Bondi, and Coogee. They are all so much nicer than any beach I have experienced in the States. The water is always a beautiful bright blue color, and waves are massive! Surf lessons are definitely on my To Do list while I am here. The fastest way to get to Manly beach is by ferry, which is a great to see the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge up close! The weather here is so nice (extremely better than the frigid winters of Pittsburgh)! It is sunny basically every single day since landing in Australia and I love every second of it!

Sydney is such a cool city because of its appreciation for diversity. There are so many different cultures that are proudly represented here, and it is a great experience to see a small piece of these cultures up close without having to travel extremely far. This is something that I definitely want to explore more since I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to live here for three months.

As of now, Life in Australia is wonderful! I already know that this experience is definitely one for the books!
