Edinburgh, Scotland..a Harry Potter Wonderland

I recently had the opportunity to go to Edinburgh, Scotland. I had heard so many wonderful things about it, one thing being that it was a “Harry Potter Wonderland”. Ive always loved Harry Potter so I was excited to go.

My roommate had already planned a weekend to go so I thought I would tag along. I bought a train ticket the day before I would leave. The bus would take 10 hours to get there and 12 to get back. I was going to be on a bus for 24 hours and spend the same amount of time in Edinburgh. But it was worth it!

When I arrived it was snowing and it was absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was in a winter wonderland or a snow globe. I hopped off the bus and began to walk to where I would be staying. I got lost several times but stumbled upon so many beautiful views of mountains and cathedrals. I was in awe of the beauty of this city.

I finally arrived to the airbnb and met up with my roommate and several others. We decided to go on an excursion. First, we went to the Elephant House, the cafe that JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter. We sat and drank coffee and talked about Harry Potter. In the bathroom there were signatures of customers from all over the world. We saw a signature from Pittsburgh and Pitt and were in a complete shock. Then we decided to walk around and find little shoppes and boutiques. We came across a three story Harry Potter store. It. was. amazing. It had everything you could think of inside. Wands, potions, maps, scarfs, capes…everything.

Next, we decided to venture to Edinburgh Castle. The weather began to get strange. It would snow heavily for 5 minutes and then become sunny and then 20 minutes later it would snow again but we still wanted to go. It was quite a hike but the view from the top was breathtaking. Rolling hills and mountains were in the background with the most beautiful town underneath.

Event though I was only there for 24 hours, i felt like I saw so much. It was an amazing trip.
