Work-wise nothing to eventful happened, but this weekend was fantastic! EUSA took us to tour an urban farm which was fantastic to see. It used to be an estate for some wealthy daily, but it was turned into a best-practice farm. It was fantastic to see all the animals on the farm being raised properly, as opposed to a lot of the factory farming present all around the world. The gardens were fully of non-native trees and plants, and we got to see how a cow was milked. I was hoping they would let us get a squeeze or two of the udder in (kind of a bucket-list item for me), but I got turned down unfortunately. They did have a calf which you could pet and turns out will suck on your fingers. The guide invited us to try it out and I jumped at the opportunity (I figured this would make up for not milking a cow). It felt like what you would imagine a cow sucking on your hand would feel like, but the sensation was kind of similar to a massage. I am unashamed to say I quiet enjoyed it. Afterwards we went to the chicken coup, which we were then informed that you can pick the chickens up. I guess it’s not a big surprise that we spent the rest of the time chasing chickens, and by the end of our time in the pen, I would say I blossomed into a proficient chicken wrangler.
