The Cliffs of Moher. Words do not do it justice. It felt like I was on the edge of the world. The more I saw of it, the more I enjoyed it. I experienced the sublime. Walking along these cliffs, I felt so small in comparison. Walking along the left cliff and comparing it to the right, I came to the conclusion that both are breathtaking in there own ways. The left side you see neat rocks, but the right side you can see a fishing village. I am not going to lie I was close to the edge, but it made the experience that much more cool. I will say this, the ground was muddy and it created friction. I’ll call it friction pleasure. The friction pleasure made me feel a lot safer.
Then there were this rock shells along the coast about 25 miles away or so and it was the closest thing to the moon. If the money landing was a hoax then they filmed it there. The rocks were in the shapes of craters. I was a bit disappointed that we couldn’t stay longer because I was hopping from rock to rock having the time of my life.
I feel extremely grateful for our bus driver who played his Irish music and pointed out neat things to me. I was like a kid in a candy store, eyes wide open.
One cool thing was this gorgeous golf course. A true links course and man did I want to play it. I am also grateful he stopped at Lily cafe, I had this coffee cake, which was coffee flavored cake, and it I can now imagine what a super bowl victory tastes like. I regret that I cannot have that first bite of that coffee cake back.
Little things too like the country side of Ireland are so unique. It is the classic image of Ireland: green and hilly.
Thinking about all of this and tieing it back to economic terms, I imagine that so many people spend money to view the cliffs. But the transport there too must bring in jobs, like our bus driver. And the concession stands too. They can charge the prices up.
It truly is a shame I can only have one featured image. I will come back and just spend a full day walking along the cliffs and rock scrambling. This will be a day I never ever forget.
