After breakfast today, we were given time to finalize our complete business/external analyses papers and presentations for Friday. For our next endeavor, we voted on whether we would visit the National Botanical Gardens of Ireland or the Gallery and Gardens. The survey said… Gardens only.

After the interesting bus ride across Dublin, we were able to roam freely through the gardens and enjoy the flora and fauna. The entire landscape reminded of Phipps Conservatory back home, with the multiple greenhouses and outdoor areas. I am normally not one for standing and admiring flowers, but the view provided was beautiful, and the park was interesting. I spent most of the time sitting by the creek, talking with James and Elgin, discussing our expectations for the trip compared to our experience as the program comes to a close in the next few days. Then, the three of us stopped by the cafe for San Pellegrino and meet up with the group.

On the way back to College Green, James, Minori, Jess and I invited our program director, Brad, over for dinner, where James would cook us burgers, alongside fries, fruit, and vegetables. The dinner itself was one of the best we have had in our dorm, and it was wonderful to spend that time with the one who provided us with all the information and advised us throughout this trip.

Looking back, I’m surprised how fast this trip has passed. Our group of eleven has developed an amazing sense of community, where we honestly care and look our for one another. Taking away the work, and the pressure to do well, and what you have left is a need for community, which is one of the essential components to being happy in your current situation. I’m thankful for the opportunity we have been given in this program, and for the people I’ve met and the memories we’ve made.
