Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Annaliese Osimani and I am a junior at the University of Pittsburgh and I will be participating in the Global Institute in London. I am originally from Chicago, but grew up in a small town in Virginia and now my parents live in Savannah, so I am not new to traveling and new places. Currently, I am studying Finance. While in London I will have an internship and I am super excited to work with people from all over the world. I plan to take advantage of my time in London and see as much of Europe as I can.
Right now I work at the University Store on Fifth and I have not yet had an internship, which makes my trip to London even more exciting to me. I am also part of Women in Business and I am currently looking for more clubs that peak my interest at Pitt.
Going through the Global Business Institute, I can take required courses in London, as well as different classes that aren’t offered in Pitt. I can take classes that take me around the city and learn about the rich history London and the UK have. When I saw that I was able to have an internship abroad, I did not hesitate to apply. I want to take advantage of every opportunity I have while in Europe and I don’t want to miss a single thing.
I love traveling and I have been wanting to study abroad since I was in high school. The last time I was in Europe I was 12 years old and I have wanted to go back ever since. Family is also really important to me since it is so small and both sets of my grandparents are from Europe, a lot of my family still lives that. I want to take this opportunity to go visit them and learn more about where my family comes from. Aside from traveling and family, I love meeting new people, having new experiences, and trying new foods. I grew up in a small town where everyone from high school goes to the same college and I wanted something new, so I traveled 5 hours away and ended up at Pitt. Being somewhere new doesn’t scare me and I know being able to speak the same language would be very beneficial and that’s when I knew London would be the best choice for me to study abroad.
