Hey guys!
So, I have been in London for a little over four weeks now, and it has truly been the adventure of a lifetime. I am loving living in London, and I never want to leave. I have definitely gotten a lot more comfortable navigating around the city and finding my way around. I did get on the wrong tube for the first time ever the other day, but I realized after one stop and all I had to do was get off and hop on another one heading in the other direction.
Like I said before, I love going on adventures. I’ve been adventuring to any place in London I can in my free time. This past Friday, I went to a placed called Shoreditch. It was amazing; I got lunch by myself at this placed called “The Breakfast Club,” I met an artist and helped him promote is new EP coming out July 21st, and I explored all the graffiti Shoreditch is known for. It was one of my favorite adventures so far.
My roommates and I still can’t believe we’re in London. At least a few times a week we say, “Oh my gosh, we’re in London.” We just can’t believe we have this amazing opportunity to travel to a different country to work and study. It’s been so much fun.
My internship has been an amazing experience as well. My coworkers are a bit older than I am, but they have been nothing but welcoming and super sweet to me. Every morning at work, one of them offers to make me a cup of tea (which is so good btw). They always ask me about my weekend adventures, which recently I travelled to Paris – highly recommend. They made me feel right at home the first day I got there, even though they had no idea who I was and why I was there. When I started, it was really hard to understand the accents of the ladies. I had to keep asking them to repeat themselves because I genuinely had no idea what they were saying. It has gotten better the more I work there, but sometimes I just smile and nod my head. I would tell others who are going to do an internship abroad, always be open-minded and help out with as much as you can, even if it is not in your speciality. Always be open to learning about different things!
Anyways, I will talk to y’all in a bit! Hail to Pitt!
Deven
