One of the main purposes of the Haller Global Fellowship is to give you an introduction to studying abroad early in your academic career, so that you start thinking about study abroad opportunities as part of your undergraduate business education. Pitt Business has had great success in providing students with opportunities and financial support for study abroad. Based on this experience and other programs that you have heard about, what is next for you for study abroad? Do you see yourself working or even living abroad in your career?
This experience has been very rewarding for me, and it has inspired me to pursue other study abroad programs with the University of Pittsburgh. I talked to James, a member of the Woodcock Global Honors program last year. He mentioned the benefits of Plus three Germany, where the students got to experience the supply chain of the German car manufacturer Audi. This is what I anticipate for the future of my immediate study abroad. I also may pursue a global internship in London for the summer after my sophomore year. Before this program, I was skeptical of my willingness to spend weeks away from my home country, but I’ve grown comfortable living in Ireland for 10 days. For my career, it’s hard to anticipate where it may lead me in the future, however, I’m definitely open gaining early career experience in another country.
