Dublin’s “Docklands”

The Docklands in Dublin was such a good place for technology companies to base their headquarters because when Dublin made its low corporate rate tax to about 12%, the Docklands were decently underdeveloped and had opportune space. When many multinational technology companies came to Dublin because of its low tax rate, they recognized the Docklands as a favorable area. The location is also a convenient place to gain the employees the technology companies desire.

I could see myself working at the Silicon Docks after college since my goal is to work in international business and the area is known for multi-national businesses. For example, Facebook in the Docklands is the company’s headquarters for all of Europe, The Middle East, and Africa. Having the opportunity to work at a company location that deals with a diverse selection of areas are the exact kind of opportunity I will seek out after college.
