Hi everyone! My name is Jules Smalis and I am an incoming freshman this year at the University of Pittsburgh. I plan to major in marketing and finance while completing certificates through the honors college about leadership and entrepreneurship. I plan on joining a lot of student organizations such as the club tennis team, women in business, Pitts radio station, and continue working my restaurant job at Senyai Thai Kitchen. I also plan to enhance my educational opportunities by continuing to travel abroad with the business school. 

The Global Haller Honors Fellowship is an opportunity for students to participate in creating a consulting project for a client in Dublin, Ireland. I chose to partake in this program because I wanted to create lasting relationships with my peers and experience what college life would be like before school even starts. I am also extremely excited to immerse myself in Irish history and culture while understanding how to begin a small business. This business opportunity will allow me to understand the inner workings of a business and how they handle the immense pressures of social, cultural, economic, and political changes.
