My classroom experience has been great so far and very rewarding! The classes that I am taking is Italian 101, Museology, Global Workforce Management and Business Consulting. I am not partaking in an internship but am taking the Business Consulting course in place of the internship. This class is very interesting and exciting as I am interested in international business and consulting.
The key strengths and skills that are needed to take these types of classes and to be successful in this academic environment is to stay organized and up to date with assignments and deadlines. While taking so many business courses it is important to not fall behind. It is also very important to be very communicative and open to meeting new people as consulting is a lot of talking to others and sharing ideas.
I can leverage my Clifton Strengths to be successful in this program by highlighting my communication skills which is important and by highlighting my responsibility skills which helps to be on top of all of my work.
The dynamics of this academic culture that I am noticing are that its a lot of group projects, especially in the business classes that I am taking. We get assigned into groups and have mini presentations and bigger ones throughout the semester. I am also noticing that many of the classes are lecture based for the first half and then more activities and group work during the second half. I like this structure during long classes because it gives us something different to do.
