The part of Florence’s cultural that I find the most challenging to assimilate with and adapt to is definitely the crowded streets and the small sidewalks. I do find it difficult to remember to move out of the street when you can’t see the car coming and it makes it harder when the small street your on is very crowded. I am managing this very well as I go into the day expecting it and practicing patience. I think when adapting to another country, trying to be patient is very important. Turing around and listening to my surroundings has helped as I then know when a car is coming.
I am experiencing some uncertainty in my consulting course as a lot of our big projects are scheduled towards the end of the semester and I don’t know exactly what to expect and am not really sure how to move forward at this moment. It is very ambiguous to have to consult a company when your not exactly sure what to do yet. I am navigating these challenges by frequently looking at my Canvas page and listening to what my instructor has to say about it in class.
I am not feeling too uncertain about life outside of the classroom as I am very used to traveling and studying abroad and being on my own. I studied abroad in Australia in 2023 and went by myself so adjusting to being on my own here as been smoother than before. Navigating Florence is super fun and easy! Being able to walk everywhere is something that I love. I love to walk and visit sites in Florence on my own as I am able to take in more of the city and really appreciate it.
