I can’t believe we are already a month and a half into the semester! Our academics are starting to pick up and it is currently midterm season. This semester I am taking Italian, Interculture and Migration, Introduction to Drawing, and International Marketing. My favorite class to go to is Italian. I love my professor and my classmates, so it is always a positive and fun environment. My most challenging class is international marketing since some of the concepts are more complicated, but as a marketing major I am glad to be getting an international lens to look at marketing though. The class that is the most out of my comfort zone is Drawing. I took one art class in high school and honestly was not great at it, but when I was choosing my courses I thought what better place to learn art. It has definitely been something to adjust to but I do enjoy going to class, and it can be a relaxing time since the class is three hours. In Florence, I have to be a self-starter and stay on top of my work, being so far from home and in such a beautiful place it can be hard to get into the school mindset. The academic culture here is definitely different from Pitt, there are no laptops in class, and the classes are much smaller than many of mine at Pitt. Overall I have been enjoying my coursework and find the new environment extremely fulfuling!
