Starting Classes in Sydney

Hello everyone, I’m back already! Today was my first day of classes. I started the morning a little frazzled because my schedule had gotten messed up at the last minute, but, thankfully, the CAPA center worked through my issue and by noon everything was sorted out. I love how small the class sizes are. I’m currently enrolled in Operations Management and Australasian Nightmare, both of which have less than 10 students. I think this will make it easier to form meaningful connections with other students as well as encourage deeper discussion. Although I expect to face challenges because of how much material is covered in only six weeks, I actually prefer this setup to regular semesters. During this program it seems a lot easier to focus on one subject since we’re not juggling as many classes at one time. I’ll keep you updated as to how everything progresses!

In other news, Australia is approaching its winter season so the temperature is quickly dropping. It pales in comparison to Pittsburgh in December, but I am still not used to bundling up in a jacket so close to June. Luckily, I was able to hit the beaches (particularly Bondi Beach) last weekend while the weather was still warm. Although Bondi Beach is a world renowned beach, I actually thought the small, secluded beaches between Bondi and Coogee Beach were even more mesmerizing. The featured picture was taken at one of those smaller beaches along the path. Although I was not used to the three mile trek, seeing these Australian coastal beaches was certainly worth the walk. I cannot wait to discover more of Australia’s marvelous gems in these next few weeks. I’ll be sure to keep you updated with what I see, but for now I’m off to bed. Good night from Sydney!

Cheers,
Jocelyn
