A Weekend In Paris

Through SomewhereNewEurope I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a weekend in Paris. When we arrived to Paris on Friday June 9th, I was quite overwhelmed. I was nervous about communicating through the language barrier and walking around and getting lost because I did not know how to read French. My nerves started to settle later on in the day, however, and I began to fall in love with Paris.

The first day we arrived, our group visited the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre. I really enjoyed the Louvre and I can now say that I have seen the famous Mona Lisa painting (which was a lot smaller than I expected). On Saturday, our tour guide took us to see the Notre Dame followed by a boat tour along the river. During the night time, a group of friends and me, visited the Eiffel tower. Since the very top was closed, we were not able to walk all the way up, but we did get to go to the second floor. When I got up, I was in awe. The sun was setting on such a beautiful city and in that very moment my nerves about the weekend vanished. It was truly a moment I will never forget.
