When I came to Vienna, there was lots about the culture I was not aware of. Christmas is a huge holiday in most parts of the world, so I knew I was in for something once Christmas has started approaching. However, I was not aware of how many Christmas markets would take the city by storm. The festivities in Vienna are grand in size and quality. Having several Christmas markets over the city makes going to old tourist sites a new experience. They are all unique in their own manner having certain markets in front of churches, while others are in alleyways in the city. Some are near famous historic landmarks while others are in center city. Each market provides a different atmosphere that each market cannot completely replicate but that is what makes it absolutely wonderful. It has made exploring Vienna a whole new adventure even after three months of living here.
