the beginning of the end

As the semester is coming to a close, finals are being completed and my internship is coming to an end, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands. During my time here, the weather has been typical London weather, cold, rainy, and gloomy. But, during the last week of this program it was the most beautiful weather.

I decided to go to the infamous Hyde Park. It is the biggest park in London. First I began in Kensington Gardens and explored Kensington Palace. I bought the most beautiful mug and got the most delicious ice cream I had ever had in London. After that I joined some friends underneath a tree in Hyde Park. We took pictures and reflected on the time we had spent in London. It felt like the beginning of the end.

After spending several hours in Hyde Park, we went to a small pub and ordered drinks before we headed to the commencement ceremony for our program.

The commencement ceremony was emotional. As a small class, we all were able to reflect on the our time abroad and share stories from our countless adventures. It wasn’t until today did I think about the fact that I had to go home. Earlier in the day, I had a last breakfast with my supervisors from my internship and said our goodbyes, I spent the day laying in Hyde Park reminiscing about my time in London and then reminisced some more with teachers and classmates. I realized how much I’ll miss London and all of the people that came with it.
