An Introduction to Me

My name is Sarah Feinberg and I am currently a Junior at the University of Pittsburgh, studying Marketing with certificates in International Business and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

A little about myself is that I’m 20 years old and originally from Bucks County. I like to joke that I “wear many hats”, but it’s true. I like to take on a variety of different roles and partake in many different activities to broaden my horizon and take in as much as I possibly can. I do this by signing up for any activity that peaks my interest and doing anything to make myself nervous. I try to live by the Eleanor Roosevelt quote that reads “Do one thing every day that scares you”. I take that and push myself to accomplish and experience anything I put my mind to.

The main activities that I like to do in my free time are to hang out with the important people in my life, being physically active, volunteering and doing artistic activities. Being physically active has recently become a huge part of my life due to recently losing a significant amount of weight by eating healthy, biking, lifting weights, amongst other activities that simply got me off the couch and moving. Volunteering has been huge for me and has gained even more importance once I entered University and started to participate in Circle K International. I am currently the Advisor Relations and Membership Development and Education Chairs for the District of Pennsylvania along with taking on an International position on the Circle K International Convention Planning Committee as their Public Relations and Marketing member. I have taken on roles every year that I have been in University and the joy I get from knowing that I’m benefiting others is really what makes it so fulfilling. Along with volunteering for Circle K, I am also involved with another nonprofit organization called the School Mindfulness Project where I am their marketing intern. All of these various activities also tie into my love for the arts. I got my certification in graphic design in high school where I was trained in fine arts, photography and graphic design. I have used these skills to express myself visually through documenting my life in photographs, expressing passion through various forms of fine arts and being able to help friends and family with my graphic design skills for academic, personal and professional projects.

Professionally, I am working on establishing myself and becoming the best version of myself for current and future employers. I have participated in marketing competitions, partaken in additional academies offered by the University of Pittsburgh, along with applying my knowledge to real life and trying to assist friends and family with their own businesses and taking on volunteer marketing positions.

I chose to travel abroad through the Global Business Institute in London because England seems like the perfect place for me to grow personally and professionally. The University of Pittsburgh made it easy to want to go with the Global Business Institute program due to their simple transferring of credits along with their guaranteed Internship while abroad which I’m taking part of. London, being a huge marketing and traveling hub seemed like the perfect place to explore and experience a different culture filled with delicious food, amazing history and beautiful art, while satisfying academic requirements.

I’m extremely excited to experience the different world that London is. I hope to be able to explore and appreciate everything that London has to offer while also exploring nearby countries on the weekends with my travel companion who also attends the University of Pittsburgh. Traveling to London will help me in my journey of life and truly help me to prepare to go from the classroom, to the city, to the world.
