It has been a rainy day in Pittsburgh, but we still did a lot of great things today! We had our first meeting with our client, Majella Orr, from the Gteic co-working hub in Ireland. I am in the AI and the Future of Coworking Development team, which works directly with Majella. This team is interesting to me so far because I enjoy considering how specific processes, events, and analytics can positively impact a company in the future. It’s all about getting the client on the right track so they can increase revenues during the off-season and beyond. It is also interesting to see how Artificial Intelligence ties in to this because it is not widely used in Gteic’s hubs; therefore, showing examples of how AI has worked in other environments is super important to show that it is not always a bad thing.
We prepared for this meeting by researching Majella and Gteic’s company last night and thinking of critical questions to ask in the meeting. Our group of four people then met this morning and breakfast and discussed what we individually researched and brought our thoughts together to combine a list of core questions and thoughts before heading into class and the client meeting. From this meeting we gained a lot of insight on what Majella wants out of this experience, her main objectives and challenges within her business. We were then able to begin writing our Scope of Work and each deciding on a deliverable for the client.
Out of today’s experience, I found it most interesting that Gteic’s Carrigart hub space struggles on engagement in the off-season, but in the summer they are bustling and struggling to have enough desks and meeting rooms available. From here our group will continue to collaborate on our Scope of Work and meet the needs of our client!
