Team Marketing! Today was our first full day working on the marketing scope of work for our clients in Ireland. I chose to be on the marketing team because I’ve spent the last four years running multiple social media accounts. I’ve learned how to reach different audiences, keep content consistent, and grow engagement. I’m excited to bring those skills to this project and help Gteic build a stronger presence.
We started with a client meeting with Majella from Gteic Co-Working, where we learned about the challenges of running a co-working space in a highly seasonal business environment like Carrigart. Carrigart has real potential. It’s not quite a five-star tourist destination yet, but we believe that with the right research and strategy, we can help move it closer. We began by identifying four key areas: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The most obvious strength is Carrigart’s natural beauty. It brings in a steady flow of tourists during the warmer months. The town has several RV parks, each with around 60 caravan slots, and most caravans host families of six or more. There is also a major festival that draws large crowds, and multiple local golf courses that bring in visitors year-round. The main weakness is that tourism comes to a stop in the winter when the RV parks shut down. That seasonal gap creates a big challenge for local businesses like Gteic. One opportunity we discussed is suggesting Gteic to partner with a local golf course to create a “work and play” retreat package. Companies could send employees to Carrigart for remote work and team-building golf trips, using the co-working space during the day and golfing in the off-hours. Before the meeting, we gathered background information on both Gteic and Carrigart to prepare thoughtful questions and ideas. This is just the start of our ideas and I’m looking forward to helping develop creative campaigns that reflect the heart of Carrigart and drive real results for our client.
