Week 8: My last week with work!

My eighth and final week in Stockholm has been a mix of emotions: gratitude, reflection, and a touch of sadness. As the end of my internship approached, everything started to feel a bit more meaningful: the daily commute, my desk at the office, and even the small routines that had become second nature over the past two months. It was hard to believe that my time here was coming to a close, but I also felt proud looking back at how far I’ve come, both professionally and personally.

At work, this week was all about wrapping things up. I submitted all the projects and assignments I’ve worked on throughout the internship, ensuring everything was organized, documented, and ready for the team to use moving forward. It felt good to complete everything with care and attention to detail, almost like putting the final touches on a project I had invested so much time and effort into. Seeing how my contributions will continue to be useful even after I’ve left gave me a strong sense of fulfillment.

Saying goodbye to the company was not easy. Over the past eight weeks, I’ve grown really comfortable with my team and had the chance to learn from some incredibly talented and supportive individuals. During my last day, I had some heartfelt conversations with coworkers who took the time to share feedback, encouragement, and kind words about my time there. It meant a lot to hear that I had made a real impact. I left the office that day feeling both proud and a little emotional, knowing that this chapter was officially closing.

Outside of work, I made a conscious effort to soak in as much of Stockholm as I could during my last few days. I revisited some of my favorite spots around the city, walking through Gamla Stan one last time, sitting by the water in Djurgården, and grabbing a fika at a café I had grown to love. Each corner of the city now held memories, and saying goodbye felt like leaving behind a place that had truly become a second home.

I also spent time with the friends I’d made during my stay, reflecting on our favorite moments together and making promises to stay in touch. It’s rare to find people you connect with so quickly and so deeply, and I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships that developed while I was here. Whether we were exploring new neighborhoods, traveling together, or just hanging out after work, they were a big part of what made this experience so special.

As I leave Stockholm, I feel a deep sense of appreciation for everything this internship and city have given me. I’m walking away with new skills, broader perspectives, lifelong memories, and a lot of personal growth. While it’s always tough to say goodbye, I know this isn’t the end, just the beginning of a new chapter. Stockholm has left a mark on me, and I’m excited to carry that with me wherever I go next. I have spent some more time in Stockholm after my eighth week, but once my time is completely over, I fly to DC for a weekend long work conference!
